GRIMENTZ
A hidden gem of the Swiss Alps, Grimentz is one of five unspoiled old villages in the Val d’Anniviers. Set at 1570m, this traditional, centuries old village, with its narrow, cobbled streets, sun darkened chalets and barns, and traffic free village centre, is stunningly picturesque year round especially in summer when festooned with the colourful geraniums famously associated with the area. It has a veritable "Chocolate Box" feel, with a spectacular alpine backdrop.
The unspoiled mountain villages together with a modern lift system and sympathetic and controlled development around the ancient village centre, make Grimentz the perfect Alpine base for both Winter and Summer holidays.
In addition to the piste skiing, the area is famous for excellent off-piste skiing and touring. The stunning 360 degree panoramic view of the Imperial Crown (five 4000+m peaks - Weisshorn, Zinalrothorn, Obergabelhorn, Dent-Blanche and the Matterhorn) can be seen from the pistes of Grimentz.
Grimentz and the other villages in Val d´Anniviers have focused on creating a friendly and safe environment attracting families and those who appreciate the fantastic setting and outdoor activities on offer. There are no major chains or tour operators in the village.
